GX94 Week 5 Fall Edition Supper in the Field 2017

Wednesday September 20, 2017 had the GX94 Motorhome and Crew travelling to the Kevin & Chardelle Lang Farm located South of Waldron, SK.  A lively bunch for sure with many laughs, food, beverages and even some guitar playing and singing by Terry, a good friend of Rod MacDonald’s who was along for the ride.  The Lang’s operate a 500 Cow/Calf and 1000 Grain Acre Operation with a little help from family.  The Cow herd is predominately Red Angus and has been hand chosen over the years for quality, mothering ability and easy calving which helps immensely at calving time.  The Lang’s have wrapped up the harvest and most of the bales are in the yard leaving a little more touch up to do and they will be ready for Winter.  Thank you to Kevin/Chardelle & family/friends for a wonderful evening!

GX94 Week 4 Fall Supper in the Field

This week we had the pleasure of visiting the Anonny & Paul Holowaty Farm in the Foam Lake, SK area.  While the weather brought about a cooler day with some light rain which stopped the harvest, we enjoyed a good visit and farm talk in the farm yard and served the meal in the car garage.  The work crew of the Farm was also in attendance as the discussion of farming as always was the main topic of conversation.  Anonny & Paul are operating an 11,000 Acre Grain Farm consisting of Wheat, Canola, Barley, Oats & Soy Beans, and were approximately 1/2 completed the 2017 Harvest.  Yields and quality are reported to be good which is consistent with the East Central area of the Province.  We wish the Holowaty’s continued success with this years Harvest as they work hard to complete the annual threshing of their crops.
