The long weekend from July 29 to July 31 found my family at a Homecoming in Quill Lake, SK.  This is where I was born and raised and farmed myself until the end of 2005, my brother and his son continue to run the family farm there.  The Homecoming featured a parade on Saturday July 30th with approximately 80 floats, a decent parade for a town of 350 people.  Featured in the parade were a large number of antique tractors which are in stark contrast to the high technology units we drive today.  One of these completely restored units included a permanently mounted plow, not something you would see coming off the equipment lines today.  Check out the pictures to see what our forefathers drove while working in the fields, certainly gave me a greater appreciation for what our farmers have to work with in todays farming atmosphere!
